Today is May the 5th 2014 we have just returned to school after the school holidays. We removed the black cover from our Hyacinth bulb. Our class were amazed to see how much the bulb had sprouted and the roots had grown. The mould on the bulb is a slight concern but we are going to see if it will go now the bulb is in the light.
We are investigating the growth of a bulb. We are using a hyacinth bulb and a specially shaped jar.
Firstly we have to put it in a dark place. The cupboard we put it in was cold and damp. It started going mouldy. So, we took it out of the cupboard and placed it in the classroom. Then we made a house for it so it was still in the dark.
Since we moved it, it has grown lots of roots.
We need to leave it in the dark for three weeks.
What do you think will happen?
It's amazing!!!
